A seventh reference Intel Series 7, mobile version made its appearance among our colleagues from VR-Zone, intended for small configurations. Called Intel HM70 Express chipset that would manage only four PCI Express port, eight USB ports, two USB 3.0, four SATA ports with a single SATA III. It would not support configurations with the Intel RAID or SRT (Smart Response Technology) but may benefit from the Intel RST (for Rapid Storage Technology). Another interesting point, it would be compatible with Intel Wireless Display version 3.0, enough to begin to see come the first screens that will display the Windows desktop wireless to an external display.
The 7 Series chipset does not count on the progress of depth for the business class with for example the Anti-Theft Technology, which intends it so small netbooks for example. These configurations are not too demanding on the number of USB ports or the number of PCI Express. Compared to HM75 offering the anti-theft system for Intel but that does not support USB 3.0 natively, the HM70 may be more attractive to the manufacturer for the same price, around $ 40. We trust that this chipset HM70 is therefore found in many machines at low prices.
